Raghu

Couple of references to Smt Lakshmi’s BP numbers brings up some memories. Guess you all know how great is her cooking. I thought she was and she is the best with my limited exposure with no disrespect to my second sister-in-law Smt Vasumathi. While the latter excelled in traditional Iyengar cooking, the centerpiece of this occasion was pretty good with North Indian dishes. What probably added to the taste was the culprit...Vyjayanthi would have put it better if she could express. I just recollected what she said in one word when we used to talk about lunch or dinner in Ashoknagar (Bashyam’s home) many years ago. That word was “UPPU”😊. Salt for those who don’t know uppu. Uppu (salt) used to be a bit on the higher side. Now I see the link between “Uppu” and the number 200/80. Vyjayanthi’s BP reads something like 100/60.You can guess the reason😊. But, here is the good part. If 10 people are invited for dinner we may be surprised to see food only for 3 or 4. It will look more like food sampling rather than eating dinner. The good thing is your salt intake also gets reduced, your stomach is only half full which means you stay healthy. But, sure enough, the great taste of her creations will linger for longtime.
